Our Rights Of Expression

Our rights are being violated on campus. We have to put up with peoples shit because we’re different. They, the administration, use the excuse of safety to impose baseless and outrageous rules upon our selves that are created to limit our freedom of expression.
They do this because they say it’s in our best interest. They cry safety. Well, as a student, I feel perfectly safe in school. They say they don’t want another Columbine. Well, they won’t. They put so much police and “yard duties” on campus that it’s impossible to sneeze without them knowing who did it, why, where, and at what time.
They don’t like it when we wear black clothing or shirts that voice our opinions on the legalization of marijuana. They ask us to take them off. You say no so they make you. They violate our first amendment right to freedom of speech. They then decide that since we refused to surrender our Constitutional Right, that we, therefore, have something to hide. They say they now have “probable cause” so they violate our fourth amendment right pertaining to the security of ones home and persons and unwarranted search and seizure of personal effects. We then, in the eyes of the accuser, become guilty without due process and a trial. They seize anything objectionable and confiscate them.
To this process I say bullshit. This is a total violation of the rights our forefathers laid down in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I call on my fellow students to object to this system of accusation and whenever this happens to you, FIGHT IT. If you see this happening to another student, OBJECT. If you don’t stand up for your fellow students, there won’t be any one left to stand up for YOU.
